Leap Castle Part I

‘The O’Carroll Clan of County Offaly & the Malignant Elemental Spirit’

“It’s lusterless eyes, which seemed half decomposed in black cavities stared into mine. The horrible smell filled me with a deadly nausea. It was the smell of a decomposing corps.”

Hidden in the countryside of Coolderry in County Offaly since the 13th century, Leap Castle has a dark and disturbing past of violence and bloodshed. Perhaps it’s not surprising that it has gained the reputation of being the most haunted place in Ireland.

Leap Castle Part One‘ tells the story of the castle’s early beginnings, from the vicious O’Carroll Clan’s secret dungeon to Mildred Darby’s encounters with the horrifying ‘Elemental’ spirit.
